Richard Hytner, Chairman and CEO - Saatchi & Saatchi EMEA

Biography

After reading law at Cambridge, Richard became an account manager, working with companies including P&G, Unilever, Nestlé, Renault, Toyota, Virgin and Visa.

He led SP Lintas in London for 3 years before becoming Chairman of WPP’s The Henley Centre, the consumer forecasting company. After joining Publicis as UK Chairman and CEO, Richard helped grow the agency from No 9 in 1997 to No 2 in 2003.

Before joining Saatchi & Saatchi as Chairman & CEO for Europe, Middle East and Africa, Richard attended The London Business School, completing the Sloan Fellowship Programme with distinction.

Richard is a member of The Marketing Group of Great Britain, a regular speaker at The London Business School and Advisory Board Chairman of its Centre for Creative Businesses.

Frank Mastiaux, Business Unit Leader LPG – BP
Keynote: “Growing a customer base at a global scale: A BP perspective on global re-branding”

Biography
Frank Mastiaux is the Global Business Unit Leader for Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) in BP. With some 3000 employees marketing LPG in 15 countries and a turnover of ca 2 bn$, LPG is one of the largest b2b/b2c businesses in BP.
With a Masters degree and a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Frank started his professional career in 1993 in the Research Department of Veba, a German Oil company.
During the following years, Frank moved through a variety of roles: Supply and Distribution Manager, Chief of Staff, and Manager Business Development for Citgo Petroleum in Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA.
In 1999, Frank returned to Veba and became the Vice President of Product Supply and Distribution. After Veba’s merger with Aral, the biggest German Gasoline Retailer, he became Managing Director for all b2b businesses of the new company.
Frank joined BP in London in 2002. As General Manager in BP’s Group Marketing Department, his responsibility covered areas such as the Customer Insight Group, Innovation Management and overseeing BP Group’s Marketing Strategy and Planning.

Frank assumed his current role in March 2005.

Mark Palmer, Marketing Director – Green & Black’s
Keynote: “The story of Green & Black’s transition from a niche organic player to the UK’s fastest growing chocolate brand and an expanding product in Europe”

Biography
Mark began at KP, working on numerous brands, most notably Hula Hoops and Go Ahead! He then joined Burger King, rising to head the UK marketing team responsible for all advertising and promotional activity. In 2001, Mark became Marketing Director at Green & Black’s. During Mark’s tenure, turnover has increased from £4.5m to £35m and it is now the fastest growing chocolate brand in the UK. The brand now covers categories including chocolate bars, gifts, ice-cream, biscuits and beverages, and is looking to expand abroad. He was recently voted the Marketing Society’s marketer of the year.
Mark is also a season ticket holder at Wolverhampton Wanderers, providing a lifetime of highs and lows and regular trips to see his family.
